TEXAS APARTMENT ASSOCIATION
TAA ONE CONFERENCE
Role + Responsibilities:
Creative Lead
The design of TAA ONE 2025 transformed a standard conference into an immersive, high-energy experience that blended education, networking, and entertainment. From the theatrical opening performance by Freestyle+ to nine activation lounges offering custom sneakers, professional headshots, and casual meet-ups, every element was crafted for interaction and shareability. The expo hall came alive with 385 exhibitors, food trucks, and scavenger hunts, while the main stage felt more like theatre than lectures, with dynamic speakers and high-impact visuals. Social events extended the design story, from a playful block party to the Planet Pop networking party, a retro-futuristic celebration with light shows and music. Tied together with the Whova app’s 10,000+ digital interactions, the conference became a choreographed journey—immersive, memorable, and community-driven.

TAA ONE CONFERENCE RECAP
Immersive & Energized Atmosphere
The conference was designed to be more than just a series of sessions — it was a sensory, engaging environment. Attendees moved through expo halls, activation lounges, and immersive activations that encouraged interaction, networking, and brand engagement.
Keynote & Main Stage Moments
The opening act included Freestyle+, a Broadway-style interactive rap performance, setting a dynamic tone.
Jesse Cole (founder of the Savannah Bananas) spoke on moving from chasing customers to building “raving fans,” tying it to every touchpoint in the multifamily industry.
Tunde Oyeneyin emphasized leadership as connection-building rather than dominance, guiding via the SPEAK framework (Surrender, Power, Empathy, Authenticity, Knowledge).
Jason Dorsey, Erin Stafford, Chet Garner, Jay Parsons, and the “Apartment Allstars” (Kate Good, Virginia Love, Lisa Trosien) contributed talks on generational trends, burnout, branding, economics, leasing, retention, and more — all grounded in actionable strategies.
Dedicated Leadership Track
A new Executive Edge event provided senior leaders a focused space to exchange ideas and tackle strategic challenges. Jason Dorsey and Erin Stafford headlined this track.
Expo & Activations
The expo hall was active and buzzing, featuring thought-leading innovations and vendor showcases tied to proptech, operations, amenity design, and resident experience.
Activation lounges—such as the Sneakerverse Club (custom sneaker station), Stellar Shots Studio (professional headshots), and Launch Pad Lounge (casual coffee + networking)—offered spaces to relax, connect, and share socially.
Social, Food & Celebration
Onsite food trucks and multiple food stations kept energy high throughout the event.
The Kickoff Block Party in the expo included a “Booth Crawl Scavenger Hunt” with branded giveaways.
Signature event: Planet Pop Networking Party, with a cosmic, ’90s/2000s–inspired futuristic theme. Light shows, immersive design, music, and dance all blended to create a memorable night of networking and fun.
Digital Engagement
The conference app (powered by Whova) played a central role, facilitating scheduling, real-time updates, and participant interaction. With nearly 9,940 in-app messages, it became a digital hub bridging content and community.
