AUSTIN CONVENTION CENTER CLOSING PARTY

Role + Responsibilities:
Creative Lead
To commemorate the closing of the Austin Convention Center after 33 years, we designed a farewell celebration with the theme “Bringing the Outside In.” The event highlighted the future outdoor spaces of the new convention center, featuring renderings, a 3D model, and a VR station where guests could virtually walk through portions of the new facility.
The ballroom was reimagined as a lush indoor fantasy, complete with interactive installations:
• A custom signing table, where attendees left their names and messages to be sealed into the new center.
• The Intention Tree Bar, which bloomed throughout the evening as guests added their hopes, memories, and Austin stories.
• Live music by Brian Scartocci, whose soulful blues and Motown classics set the tone.
• A chef-curated menu that previewed the elevated culinary experience planned for the new center.
The evening was both a tribute to the past and a vision of the future, an immersive sendoff that celebrated community, memory, and transformation.
SHOW STOPPER
We wanted to create a backdrop that brought a real wow factor to the event. In a sea of green ivy, winding velvet
green sofas, and crystal chandeliers, the all-white, backlit
city skyline was a true show stopper. This special piece was designed to fit in multiple future spaces, made up of four skyline panels it's able to go from 12' to an expansive 48'

as pictured above.
