Overview
Chanel defines luxury through precision, restraint, and experience.
I contributed to the design and execution of a VIP brand experience celebrating the 93rd year of Chanel, translating the brand’s heritage into an immersive, in-person moment for a highly curated audience.
The Opportunity
Luxury is not communicated at scale. It is experienced in moments.
The challenge was to create an environment that:
•Honored Chanel’s history and legacy
•Felt exclusive and intentional
• Maintained absolute brand integrity at every touchpoint
This required a balance of creative expression and disciplined restraint, where every detail reflects the brand.
CHALLENGE
Translate Chanel’s heritage into modern campaign formats
Maintain brand consistency across global channels
Support storytelling that feels both exclusive and culturally current
This required aligning creative output with a brand that has historically relied on cinematic campaigns and controlled scarcity to drive demand.
Approach
Experience Design
Developed a cohesive visual and spatial direction for the event, ensuring alignment across:
•Guest touchpoints
•Environmental design
•Printed and physical materials
Every element was considered as part of a single, controlled brand system.
Brand Translation
Translated Chanel’s established visual language into a live setting, focusing on:
•Minimal, elevated design choices
•Strong typographic hierarchy
•Refined composition and materiality
The goal was not to add—but to edit, refine, and elevate.
Precision & Consistency
Maintained strict adherence to brand standards while adapting for a live experience.
Ensured all outputs felt:
•Intentional
•Cohesive
•Unmistakably Chanel
Impact
•Delivered a high-touch VIP experience aligned with Chanel’s global brand standards
•Reinforced brand perception through controlled, detail-driven execution
•Contributed to an event that prioritized experience, exclusivity, and brand integrity over scale
Leadership Lens
Luxury demands a different kind of creative leadership.
This work reflects:
•Restraint over excess
•System thinking over decoration
•Brand protection as a creative discipline
At this level, the role of creative is not to add more, but to ensure that every detail earns its place.
“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”
